Parlato turns WordPress posts into audio.

Parlato is a free WordPress plugin for generating narrated audio and AI podcast-style versions of posts using your own OpenAI or ElevenLabs API key.

Generate a Host and Guest dialogue and synthesize it with two voices.

Store generated audio in the Media Library and display it with a lightweight HTML5 player.

How setup works

Install and activate

Install Parlato from WordPress when the plugin is approved, then open the Parlato settings page.

Choose a provider

Use OpenAI for built-in voices, or connect ElevenLabs when you want voices from that account.

Paste your API key

Parlato is bring-your-own-key. The API key belongs to your provider account, not to ambronet.

Generate audio

Open the Posts list or post editor, generate audio, then check the player on the front end.

Parlato Free has no plugin subscription or licence fee.

Provider billing

OpenAI or ElevenLabs bill usage

Audio generation can create API costs in your provider account. A ChatGPT subscription is separate from OpenAI API billing.

Your WordPress site

Keys are stored locally

API keys are stored by your WordPress installation and used only when you trigger provider actions.

  • Post text is sent to the selected provider when you generate audio.
  • Narrator and Interview formats use OpenAI to create the spoken script before audio generation.
  • Generated MP3 files are stored in your WordPress Media Library.
  • ambronet does not resell AI credits, add usage markup or run a hosted generation account for the Free plugin.

Quick FAQ

Is ElevenLabs required?
No. ElevenLabs is optional. You can start with OpenAI only.
Is a ChatGPT subscription enough?
No. ChatGPT subscriptions and OpenAI API usage are separate. Parlato needs an OpenAI API key for OpenAI-powered generation.
Where are generated files stored?
Generated MP3 files are saved in the WordPress Media Library as normal media attachments.
Does Parlato add tracking scripts?
No. The front-end player is a lightweight HTML5 audio player; Parlato does not add external tracking scripts.
Why are there no links to the full docs yet?
This is a temporary review landing page. Public documentation, demos and roadmap pages will be linked when they are ready for visitors.
